The following pairings went over big tonight with 55 dinner guests
Roasted Tomato Soup – WINE: ANGELS GATE RIESLING SÜSS RESERVE (WHITE, NIAGARA)
Caesar Salad – WINE: BOUTARI MOSCHOFILERO (WHITE, GREECE)
Roast Beef Tenderloin – WINE: SOUTHBROOK CAB FRANC (RED, NIAGARA)
Briars Crème Brulee – WINE: VIEWPOINTE BIG BLUFF (RED, ESSEX PELEE ISLAND COAST)
The Greek white by Boutari and the Viewpointe red blend were especially popular tonight! And the food tonight was exceptional.
….. The Wine Baron
The Greek wine sounds interesting, any tasting notes you can remember?
Yes indeed. The varietal is Moschofilero (the Greek answer to Pinot Grigio). Nice and fruity and amazing viscosity. Great mouthfeel. This is a sleeper and I’m not easily impressed.
Nice, thanks for sharing. I will have to look out for it.
You bet, Wine Culturist. I’m enjoying your discoveries as well.
